Where it starts
You can do this.
You don’t need a title, a seminary degree, or a perfect track record to make disciples. You need a relationship with Jesus and a willingness to bring someone along.
Jesus didn’t hand out a program. He chose twelve, lived life with them, and sent them to do the same. Disciple-making is just that — helping someone follow Jesus by following Him yourself, together.

First, get this straight
What it is — and isn’t.
It’s a relationship, not a program.01 · John 13:34–35You’re not running a curriculum — you’re walking with a person. Life on life, over time.
You don’t need all the answers.02 · Acts 4:13“I don’t know, let’s find out together” is a great answer. Your job is to point to Jesus, not to be Him.

Here’s how Jesus moved people from watching to leading. Walk someone through these four stages, and you’ll reproduce yourself.
I do, you watch.Step 01You model it — praying, sharing, serving, reading the Word — while they observe up close.
We do together.Step 02You do it side by side. They start participating; you’re right there to guide and encourage.
You do, I help.Step 03They take the lead while you support and coach. Mistakes are fine — that’s how people learn.
You do, someone watches.Step 04Now they’re doing it — and bringing someone new along to watch. The cycle begins again.
